@AlChauncy, The Son of Soul is back with a new single “Luv Drunk” feat. @GregNice. The track has been Produced by @Traxx888 and Mastered in NYC by @MasarTv who was also the engineer behind “Stick Em Up. With a funky sound and a feature from Nice and Smooth’s Greg Nice, Al Chauncy is seeking to start off promotion for his new album on the good foot.
Offering a little more upbeat flavor this time around but with the same soul, the singer lets a woman know that he might be a little tipsy off her good love. The song strikes a good chord with the ear from the moment it starts playing with it’s bombastic drum and well-placed horns. Chauncy‘s vocals are a great match for the track, giving off energy and fun with every note. Greg Nice’s verse, while short, add a little something to the track and sticks very closely to the theme of the track. The lyrical metaphor is carried pretty well throughout the track and has the added benefit of making this a good party track for a wide audience.
@MasarMasar We greatly thank you!! It's been an honor to have great ears like yours to master our records. https://t.co/moJwrWtkKk

Growing up in a small 3 bedroom house in Raleigh, North Carolina; Al Chauncy experienced what it was like to live in a lower income neighborhood called Apollo Heights. With three brothers in one room and one boxed floor television in the living room, he had to become more creative. Being the Son of a Rock & Roll/Jazz trained Pianist, Al Chauncy’s musical prowess begun at the early age 11; penning his first song to the Maxi single instrumental of Ice – T “Original Gangster”. Being involved around church since his early childhood, Al Chauncy learned three part harmonies and vocal arrangements from singing in The Gospel Music Workshop of America(Ricky Dillard, Vickie Winans, James Moore), and the MLK All Children’s choir.
He is the Son of jazz/rock n roll pianist Gerald “Jerry” Williams who was Duke Ellington’s young protege’ for a short period; which Duke handpicked his Father for a scholarship to The Juilliard School. He also played with Jackie Wilson, The Tams, WJ Moore and the Dynamic Upsetters; Graced the stages of The Apollo Theatre, Madison Square Garden, and The Ed Sullivan Show. Al Chauncy is also the cousin of Blues legend Brownie McGhee who recorded records as the duo Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee. So the musical inheritance was inevitably passed on to Al Chauncy to share with his generation.
His story telling style is heavily influence by The Notorious BIG and his love for storylines in films. At the age of 16 he joined a super rap group Bloodline which comprised of 6 members who sung and rapped; they were compared to The Fugees and even got a chance to work with the Fugees producer/engineer Joe “The butcher” Nicolo in Philadelphia. In the midst of the few lucrative deals Bloodline had on the table, the group disbanded due to creative differences. After the big group break up Al Chauncy continued his musical dream and became a state wide figure in the Carolina music scene. He was nominated for Best Artist in the 2009 North Carolina Underground Music Awards and also recieved the moniker as The Carolina Mayor from his fans.
In that same year Al Chauncy had greater ambitions and realized that being The Carolina Mayor wasn’t his only intentions; So he chased his dreams and moved to “The mecca of Urban music” Atlanta, Georgia. Upon arrival to Atlanta, Al Chauncy began Performing at countless open mics and showcasing his talent as a hip-hop artist who uniquely sung his hooks and rapped. While performing at those open mics Al Chauncy got the opportunity to meet Chris “Traxx” Rogers who produced for (Cee- Lo Green, Porsha Williams, Allen Anthony, Tori Alamaze and Pussy Cat Dolls). After hearing Al Chauncy’s soulful voice, Rogers was immensely impressed and offered a production deal to this up and coming star.
After previously being the in house producer for Cee-Lo Green, Chris “Traxx” Rogers felt he struck gold again with this new phenomenal artist. Rogers worked on Al Chauncy’s artist development for 2 years; molding him from Hip Hop to an urban soul artist. his debut album is entitled Late For Church, which has an ambiguous meaning of the “The World is not perfect” and also relates to Al Chauncy being raised in the church and the streets. As an incredible Soul singer, he is also a talented songwriter, penning songs for Teddy Riley (Blackstreet), and many other relative artist in the music industry. He is coined as the Son of Soul and is here the revive American Soul music and R&B.
