Kaoutar Nihad “Hobbak Dayaa” | Directed by Masar –
Kaoutar is a young Moroccan singer-songwriter. She was born and raised in El Jadida, Morocco where she attended “Groupe Scolaire l’Ange Bleu” before moving to New York to complete her studies. She holds a bachelors degree in Business Administration and Marketing and communication, and is currently completing her MBA in Marketing at Brooklyn College, New York. Kaoutar was awarded several scholarships for her academic excellence and leadership achievements.
The wonders of music ignited in Kaoutar a passion for singing and songwriting since early childhood. In 2009, she was chosen among hundreds of applicants to participate in the Middle Eastern singing competition “Star Academy Arab” but could not partake in the final competitions due to her residency overseas. Fueled by her passion for singing and songwriting, Kaoutar persisted. She continued to write songs in different languages including Arabic, French, and English. Eventually, she released her first Moroccan single, which she wrote herself, entitled “Hobak Dayaa”, thereby turning her dream into reality.
It is rare that a Moroccan artist releases a single in Moroccan dialect because it is very difficult to market it to the Middle-East. Fortunately for Kaoutar, “Hobak Dayaa” was a great success so much so that it afforded her media blitz. She appeared as a guest in various radio shows in Morocco including Casa FM, Shada FM, Radio Mars, Radio Plus, Med Radio, Radio Atlantic, and Sawt Almoghtaribin Al 3arab. Not only that but she also appeared in many TV shows including Sabahiyat 2M, Massar 2M, Channel 4 Ma3a Taroub, and 100% Chabab.
Furthermore, in october2012, Kaoutar appeared as a cover Star for Khabar 3ajel and Najma, two of Lebanon’s more popular magazines. Recently, she released a music video, which was shot in New York by an American director, for her popular first album’s title track “Nta li bghit”.
After the success of “Nta Li Bghit” released on July 2012, Kaoutar continued to write and compose songs in Moroccan dialect and has recently released a House style Moroccan song entitled “Romeo”.
Kaoutar has a pool of songs, both in Moroccan and in English, to draw from, and is currently working on the release of a second album with tracks in Moroccan, Khaleeji, and Enlgish.

She holds an Associate’s degree in Business Administration Marketing and is currently completing her B.A degree with a concentration in Marketing and Communication in Brooklyn College, New York . Kaoutar was awarded several scholarships for her academic excellence and leadership achievements.
Driven by the wonders of music, Kaoutar had the passion of singing and writing songs since her early childhood. She was chosen among hundreds of applicants to participate in the Middle Eastern singing competition “Star Academy Arab” in 2009 but unfortunately she couldn’t attend due to her circumstances in living abroad. However, Kaoutar never gave up on her singing and writing passion.
She continued to write songs in different languages (Arabic, French and English) and was later able to turn her dream into reality by the release of her Moroccan single entitled “Hobak Dayaa”, which she wrote herself and Omar Saad composed.
It is not very common that Moroccan artists release singles in the Moroccan dialect being that it’s difficult to market to Middle-Easterns. However, the single was a great success, and Kaoutar was featured on several Radio shows in Morocco ( Casa FM, Shada FM) and the Lebanese radio Sawt al Moghtaribin. In addition to that, Kaoutar was the cover star of the famous Lebanese magazine in Khabar3ajel.
Kaoutar has a pool of Moroccan and English poems/songs to draw from and is currently working on the release of a yet another Moroccan single entitled “Ma Tensanish” due to release this summer.
